The sport of mountain biking has many disciplines, but most recently, trail bike racing, aka Enduro, has become all the craze. I am in New Zealand at the moment for Crankworx racing several events, and while out training I have also been learning all about race tactics and set up tips from the world's best Enduro racers here at round 1 of the Enduro World Series.
The Ridge is the brand new film from Danny Macaskill... For the first time in one of his films Danny climbs aboard a mountain bike and returns to his native home of the Isle of Skye in Scotland to take on a death-defying ride along the notorious Cuillin Ridgeline.
I had the pleasure of traveling to Hawaii for teaching BMX and skateboarding to kids living on US military bases on the island of Oahu. There are two skate parks on the Hickam/Pearl Harbor base and both have a plethora of different ramps, wedges and rails. About 40 kids ages 6-16, participated in a 3-hour class for 5-days learning the building blocks of BMX & Skateboarding. I was the BMX coach and Ryan Seifried was the skateboard coach. Here is an interview with pics from the military newspaper: http://www.hookelenews.com/renowned-bmx-stunt-rider-teaches-joint-base-kids/
Yet another podium at the IXS European cup in Pila, Italy and 5th place for me. I was aiming a bit higher after finishing 4th in seeding, but I made a huge mistake which had cost me valuable time but overall I'm happy with the result and can't wait for the upcoming races.
World Cup finals saw a new venue in a small mountain town of Meribel, set high in the French Alps. Meribel is more well known for it's skiing, but the mountain biking is just as good with it's steepness, technical variety, and speeds. For the final round of the 2104 season, the racing was exciting and to the wire.
Mountain Bike Park Javornik was my next destination. I was riding with the man behind the park Sebastjan Stres.
