Another Winter of Climbing in Bishop - Seth Rogers

Another Winter of Climbing in Bishop - Seth Rogers
February 25, 2014 -  Seth Rogers

This winter I did a couple of trips to my favorite place on earth to boulder - Bishop.  I did a trip with a large group from Zero Gravity and I did a trip with just a couple of climbing buddies.  I like the energy of the large group but I also enjoyed the chill vibe of hanging with just a few friends.

Bishop and the Rope Season - Nick Bradley

Bishop and the Rope Season - Nick Bradley
February 15, 2014 -

So lately I have been taking quite a few short trips out to Bishop, which has been both fun and beneficial to my bouldering ability, but holding me back from ropes. Basically I've been projecting and projecting and sending harder than ever before, but I'm struggling on finding the focus on one particular event, such as Open SCS Nationals, or bouldering hard outside. This will all level out soon enough I'm sure though... Anyway, here's some updates on what's going on:

Over the Martin Luther King 3 day weekend a few of my teammates and I went to bishop. We climbed for 2 full days and had a lot of fun.On the first day of the trip we went to the Sads and started the day in the Ice Caves. We did some traversing and sent Shazam V5 (6c+) as a warm-up, then started working our projects. Seth Rogers and I got on Water Hazard V9 (7c) and after a few tries we had both sent. It was my first V9! It flowed nicely for me and was a good...

Every climber has to find his own personal way to psych and happiness. For some it's big wall trad climbing in Yosemite, and for others it might be hard bouldering in Hueco Tanks. For me bouldering and sport climbing have always seemed to be the purest forms of the sport. The goal is just pure difficulty and endurance, and to push the limits of your own ability farther and farther. I tried a little big wall climbing last spring, but I must admit that I don’t get as psyched on it. Don’t get me wrong, standing atop a big...

A ZG Team Trip to Bishop - Matt Grossman

A ZG Team Trip to Bishop - Matt Grossman
January 25, 2014 -  Matt Grossman

Over Christmas break Scott Cory, a few kids from our team and I went up to bishop to climb. It was really fun because I had people to climb with and to encourage me and for me to encourage. It was also fun when we weren’t at the crags because there were lots of people to talk to and hang out with at the fire. On the first day we went to the Happys and started up by the Clapper. Then moved on to the Slow dance cave, then Acid wash, next Every color you are and finished off...

The Problems and Projects of Bishop - Markus Eder

The Problems and Projects of Bishop - Markus Eder
January 16, 2014 -  Markus Eder

After sunset the hot spring six miles south of Bishop is the meeting point for many climbers and also some non-climbers. As well as relaxing in the warm water also highly scientific discussions are held. So a dirt biker astonishing that: “What, do you call the rocks, you want to climb, problems? What a life if these are your only problems!”“Our boulders are problems for us! If we fall in love with a line, we have to try again and again to get on top. We put all our energy and thoughts in that climb.” So in addition...
