Love the Experience - Jon Cardwell

Love the Experience - Jon Cardwell
December 17, 2013 -

Even extremely busy I feel guilty for not checking in for a bit...While these blogs and connecting with our community are always great, life on the road and climbing often occupy all of our time. Stories are always worth telling, I just need to make it more a priority. Regardless, here I am, back in Colorado for some time before the next circuit of climbing begins. I started in Colorado some months ago when I traveled to Portland for the annual PBR. I didn't know what to expect at first, especially since I was nursing a moderately wounded shoulder...

Cold Weather Riding Tips - Jill Kintner

Cold Weather Riding Tips - Jill Kintner
December 11, 2013 -

Just wanted to share a few cold weather riding tips for those miserable days out on the trails. Gearheads take notes.. These past couple weeks have been exceptionally cold. That is a matter of perspective I know as some people have it rougher. But here in Cascadia, anything below 40 is testing, below 30 and I sorta draw the line, and it has been 20degrees!!. I've done my share of permafrost and snow, but I can't say it's really all that worth it. Suspension doesn't work as well, tires are cold, hands barely can grab the brakes,...

The Ginger Squirrel Diaries: Making a Dream Reality - Nathan J Jones
December 11, 2013 -  Nathan J Jones

“When the daylight comes, do you feel it? Leave your bag of bones, Underneath your bed, Everything is as, It should be, I’m leaving now, As I should be….” My morning alarm song “No Way” by The Naked and Famous was playing and there certainly was no daylight outside.  Although I didn’t realise it yet.  Today was going to be a special day.  Today, a dream would come to life.

Double Crown at HP40 - Francesca Metcalf

Double Crown at HP40 - Francesca Metcalf
December 04, 2013 -

The second and final leg of the Triple Crown was held at Horse Pens 40 a few weekends ago. Like the first leg at LRC, I went up with a group of climbers from my collegiate climbing club, and we camped at HP40 with the majority of the other competitors. I was a little nervous going into the competition because I hadn't climbed nearly as well as I had wanted to at LRC, and HP40 tends to give me a hard time. I also hadn't been to Horse Pens since the Triple Crown last year, so I didn't exactly...

New Route in Verdon, Military Competition and Some Short Escapes from the Chamonix Winter - Martina Cufar

New Route in Verdon, Military Competition and Some Short Escapes from the Chamonix Winter - Martina Cufar
December 02, 2013 -

We were driving a lot in the last months. Not very ecologic, I agree, but if we want to climb in a dry and warm rock we don't have other solution. So after coming back from Slovenia in the end of October and Nico from Yosemite (where he helped Vanessa Francois at her El Capitan project (Video Zodiac ), we went for a week to Verdon. Nico opened a new route there with his friend Olivier Dutel, and after all the spits were drilled, we went to check out how hard would be this stuff. First day we were...

Five Ten Athletes in Award Winning Commercial

Five Ten Athletes in Award Winning Commercial
November 26, 2013 -

In the Spring of 2012, JT Holmes, Jesse Hall and Timy Dutton went to Baffin Island to ski and BASE jump, as well as combine the two in a never previously performed 3 way terminal ski base jump. The team consisted of friends of Five Ten like Jimmy Chin and Josh Helling. Dirk Collins, Joshua Lavigne, Adrian Moat, Levi Palituq and Andrew Wexler all played critical roles in the pulling off the expedition and the images achieved. The trip was funded by Pirelli Scorpion Winter Tires under the goal of showing through high impact images that Power...
