"If There are no Rocks There is no Happiness" - Bernd Zangerl

"If There are no Rocks There is no Happiness" - Bernd Zangerl
September 12, 2013 -

These words of an iranian climber i will never forget. they describe the lebensgefuehl of many young people here in iran. At first however the situation is not obvious. everywhere i meet friendly and helpful people, who laugh often and are always joking around. but after long discussions i become aware that their dreams of life are limited by the isolated space they have learned to deal with. Finally, after a 48 hour train drive we arrive at the border to Iran. all passengers of the train have to leave and carry their luggage to the check post. hours are...

Nathan J Jones - The Ginger Squirrel Diaries: Intro

Nathan J Jones - The Ginger Squirrel Diaries: Intro
September 11, 2013 -  Nathan J Jones

This little ginger was born and raised in Australia far, far, far away from any big mountains. Surfing was my life. But the desire to chase human flight has led me away from my comfort zone and into a foreign land.Step one was skydiving. Once I learnt to skydive I started the slave labour trade of packing parachutes to support my new addiction. Now a little over 3 years down the track from my first ever skydive I'm learning to charge the mountains in my wingsuit. For sure this fast-tracked method isn't exactly what people recommend and...

Champions of Downhill in South Africa - Jill Kintner
September 09, 2013 -

Well South Africa may possibly be the farthest place from home, but it's full of excitement, crazy critters, and the Downhill World Championships this year. Any time you see monkeys, I consider it a win, but racing wise fans also had a win with a storybook ending seeing local hero Greg Minnaar (5.10 athlete) smash out the run of his life at take the title!!! The announcers were hyping this up all week, pumping beats for Greg, and the whole arena was on their feet as he came down. It was quite an experience to witness that in person....

Carlo Traversi is Proud to Present...HERITAGE
September 09, 2013 -

It's been a long road but I've finally managed to consolidate all of the footage from my productive trips to Switzerland in the Fall of 2012 and Spring of 2013. Switzerland is one of my favorite bouldering areas in the world. The perfectly featured and smooth granite blocs are designed for hard bouldering. From my beginnings as a climber, it was a dream of mine to climb a number of the lines featured in the film. Legendary boulders such a New Base Line (V14), Practice Of The Wild (V15), and The Story of...

No Pain, No Gain, That’s the Theory Right?! - Mayan Smith-Gobat
September 06, 2013 -

I hope that is true, because I have been pushing my body harder than ever before and existing in a state of perma-tiredness… Getting up at 5 or 6am every morning to train in the cool morning hours and make the most of the day… My training cycle has involved grueling circuits, sprint intervals, long hill runs, tread-wall sessions and a LOT of climbing. Completing this cycle has required a huge amount of energy and focus, and I have even been relishing my few rest days more than ever before…
