Vallnord Andorra MTB World Cup - Jacqueline Harmony

Vallnord Andorra MTB World Cup - Jacqueline Harmony
August 01, 2013 -

The Andorra World Cup was one of the toughest races to attend, as I went alone, without Dante. Dante has been with me at every World Cup as my coach, mechanic and supporter, so it was a bit strange going without him. I met up with Fionn Griffiths and Gabriela Williams in Morzine France for some riding before we headed to Andorra. I was able to ride so many great places to from Morzine such as, La Gets, Super Morzine, Chatel, Swiss nationals track and some DH runs on the backside of Champery. The area is so magnificant with...

Euro Summer - Mayan Smith-Gobat
July 31, 2013 -

After a wet and very unsettled Spring/Summer, with a little too much flitting around the world, it has been a welcome change to be living out of my van again, in the full blown heat of Summer… Being able to focusing purely on climbing again and getting super fit for my season in Yosemite this Autumn. After three days at the Outdoor Trade show in Germany, Ben and I escaped to the peaceful and beautiful Ceuse – It is still one of my most favorite places in the world! Even in the midsummer rush when there are people everywhere and...

Following my first two weeks climbing in Waterfall Boven and exploring areas in and around Johannesburg, South Africa, including Kruger National Park, Arjan, Keith, and I flew to Cape Town for the third week of our South Africa tour. Cape Town is easily one of, if not THE, most beautiful cities I have ever been to.

July 29, 2013 -

Last weekend I had the opportunity to return to the beautiful state of Alaska to work with the Alaska Rock Gym and give a slideshow about my trip to Greenland.  I have visited Anchorage twice before to be a guest at the gym’s annual winter competition and I have always had a wonderful time.  The climbing community in Anchorage is very welcoming and reminds me of the tight-knit group I grew up climbing with back in the Midwest.

Day 1 was fantastic despite a lot of hurdles like being rained on twice in sky. I maintained a good pace to reach the starting place above Salzburg without burning out as the flight conditions looked marginal and the dachstein is 60km straight line without the mountains in the way. I managed to have a good flight to a crux about 40km when severe rain and thunder developed forcing a landing. From my training I knew exactly where to walk for the next 20km flight to reach the day end goal near Dachstein. Unfortunately my shoes and socks were...

First time, love at first sight! Africa is exotic, welcoming, and free. I feel so fortunate to be able to travel here and I am so appreciative to everyone making my trip so great! On July 2 I traveled to Johannesburg with 3StringsProductions - Keith Ladzinski and Andy Mann and Arjan de Kock of South Africa. Our agenda was to climb at Waterfall Bovcn – South Africa’s gem for sport climbing. This climbing location is easily world class. Located outside of JoBurg, the landscape is filled with rolling hills, trickling mountain streams, and immense cliff faces. The rock is a...
