This was my second world championship, so I had a better idea of what to expect this time, although Scotland and Singapore where two completely different competitions. Scotland was very structured where as Singapore was one of the most laid back comps I...

15 more days! Then I leave for Paris to compete in this year’s Climbing World Championship! I have been climbing 5-6 days a week and cross training by running almost every day. It’s been tough, but all I can think about is the possibility of making semis this year.

This past weekend was the SCS Youth Nationals Competition in Atlanta. It was a great comp and I'd like to start off by thanking all the volunteers and route setters for all their hard work. The comp went very smoothly and all the competitors had a great time! My favorite part of any competition is getting the opportunity to climb new and hard routes, which is what I always get when I go to Stone Summit! I ended up sending all my routes, for the second year in a row, and placing first!

Youth Regionals for rope was last weekend and it was so much fun! A huge thanks goes out to Canyons climbing gym and all of the people involved in organizing the comp. The comp was very well organized and stayed on schedule (which is a rarity) and the routes were awesome! I’m look forward to divisionals, but now I'm focusing on training for Teva. It’s been a while sense I’ve bouldered, so I'm going to have to try to build up some power endurance again.

They were both super fun and I had a great time climbing the routes that were set for both competitions.First I competed in adult ABS, The routes were difficult but really cool. I completed two out of the five routs in qualifiers, my first climb was a slabby route that wasn’t too hard and I flashed it, the second was a slopery ball hold climb. I got to the top of the climb and just popped off because I got way too exhausted, the third climb was really crimpy...

I had a good time training on some of the problems that were new for me at the Boulder Rock Club as well as finishing some other problem I had been working on over the past few weeks. Two Sunday's ago I decided last minute that I thought my shoulder was feeling well enough for me to compete at CityRock for the citizens...

Aside from the competing, I am also excited to see all of my close friends. Over the years, I've been...

This weekend was the first youth Divisional Championship for ABS (bouldering). I traveled to North Carolina to compete for one of 7 bids to nationals. The comp was held at Triangle Rock Club, a gym I hadn’t been to before. I was really psyched going into the competition because I really like to see all of my friends from USA Climbing. I had high expectations of myself and planned on using this comp as a way to see how much stronger I have gotten.

It was a lot of fun, and the problems were sweet. I took first both days of the comp. On the way home I held my traditional lock off comp that I stared last year in an airport. Every time I get on a train in an airport, the kind that take you from one terminal to another, I challenge fellow climber travelers to see who can hold a 90 degree lock off position, off of the bar that people are supposed to hold on to...

This past weekend was the regional championships, which due to an excess number of Male B boys, they had to split into qualifiers and finals. There were seven kids in my category and all advanced to divisionals so it was just for funnsies. Most of us flashed the three qualifiers.

Even though late, I finally bring a short report of World youth Championships in Imst 2011. Just ten days before the WYCH started in Imst, an European youth cup took place there on the same venue. One could take it as a part of training and so did a lot of competitors, even from another continents. But now I gonna aim for the most prestigious competition of the year for youth climbing. First two days were the qualification rounds on. Each day I had one route.

Summer's over, meaning unfortunately back to school for my sophomore year of high school. On the good side, it also meant back to climbing. After getting back from a three week trip to the Red River Gorge in Kentucky and SCS youth nationals in Georgia, I rested through the entire month of August because of a stress fracture on my back. September meant I was able to start training and climbing again to get ready for the fall bouldering season. I was really psyched to get back to it, especially with a healed up back. ...

Psyched! So the first major comp over the summer was Canadian Youth Nationals as a qualification for World Championships. I ended up finishing the comp in 2nd by 1 move. I was a little disappointed because it was my last year in youth, but my track record stands: I have won 6 out of 9 Youth National titles in my career as a youth climber. Well, first off id like to apologize for the tardiness on this post, I've been trying to catch up on school, with my immense amount of makeup work. the best part was, whilst i was working straight from 3:30 till 10 purely on makeup work, i got behind on the assignments that were getting assigned for that night. i think slash hope that now I'm on schedule with everyone else!
