Slovenia’s Lead queen fixed her second success in a row with place 1 in Kranj, the men’s stage victory went to Jakob Schubert (AUT), fledgling winner of the Overall World Cup 2012 (Lead, Speed, Boulder).A long, thrilling, diversified and successful sport climbing year 2012 is now history. After breaking out the old Rand McNally I quickly diverted back onto the highway and fallowed signs to the classic World Cup venue of Mont Sainte Anne. I found an uninhibited patch of earth near the base of the mountain and with the excitement of the...

Windham (World Cup Downhill #5) is a short course (men’s times are 2 ½ minutes) requiring very high speeds and appears to be a severe test of accuracy. Mikey Sylvestri and I are doing the course walk checking out the rock garden (picture). So many parts of this track remind me of old NORBA venues.

Mt. Ste. Anne, Quebec, Canada Santa Cruz Syndicate’s Greg Minnaar races into 2nd place behind Aaron Gwin at Mt. Ste. Anne in the UCI Downhill World Cup Series. After two weeks of constant rehab of Steve Peat’s torn hamstring he was ready to give the race a serious go, but he slid out on the upper part of the track which skewed his front end making it impossible to continue attacking and he placed 71st. Josh Bryceland felt he was capable of a better run while his efforts netted him a 12th place position.

The Fort William World Cup is one of the most anticipated events of the season for both fans and racers alike with a bonus this year; the Olympic Torch passed through on Saturday. Everyone has felt the pressure of the last minute pack job. It doesn't matter how much spare time you leave to pack, it always comes down to the wire getting spare parts organized and bikes taped up in their boxes. We are leaving tomorrow morning for the 15 hour trip from Sydney to Durban, RSA. Got all day:), so I figured, plenty of time to write a blog:)
