I had the pleasure to take the FiveTen adventure mobile on the road for a few weeks on a massive BASE jumping safari through the western United States. Starting in Seattle, fellow BASE jumper and badass Braden Dean and I moved into our temporary home (a sick Mercedes Sprinter vans all FiveTen'ed up) and started driving down the coast. JT Holmes and Timy Dutton drove out to Utah to meet up with Jesse Hall, Suz Graham, Neil Amonson and Marshal Miller in order to jump, jump and do some more jumping. 
 
This trip highlight was a creative and spontaneous balloon jump above Tooele Valley.  It is ver fun what can happen with some extra altitude!
 
The Chase shoe from Five Ten provided nice grip on the railing of the balloon basket.

Climbing with a parachute on your back presents some unique challenges, and so does getting all the gear down with you too. But it all just adds to the fun.  Combining the two sports, climbing and BASE jumping is a unique experience that I cherish greatly. It's all one big adventure and you are constantly being challenged. A little windy considering most balloons won't leave the ground if there is the slightest breath of wind- but our balloon pilot is a cowboy and was determined to get us off the ground. I live a life of extremes. Extreme joy, inexplicable happiness, I have lived out my wildest dreams, regularly, I get to do what I’m passionate about for my job. I often feel like the luckiest girl on the planet. However, with all that fire comes the ice. The danger is real and the consequences can be heavy, I have been recently faced with the hardest physical hit I’ve ever taken. Being a freeskier that is in the never-ending search of powder and fresh snow has it's positives, but when the winter weather doesn't deliver as it should, the negatives seem to overpower any positivity the sport has to offer.   Luckily the sport of BASE jumping gives the opportunity to fill that "snow void."  Living in the state of Utah allows action sports athletes, like myself and friend/fellow Five Ten athlete, Suz Graham, the perfect landscape and opportunities...                ]]></description>

This particular place is one of the most unique, picturesque jumps in the world. TonSai is a little village that is better known for it's world class climbing, attracting climbers from all over the world to come bask in the sun, hang from giant stalactites, eat cheap Masaman curry, climb to their hearts content, and run from the monkeys. For us, however, the real appeal for us was the big, overhanging cliff right above the beach with a sandy landing area...                ]]></description>
