A Trip to Red Rocks - Urs Moosmuller

A Trip to Red Rocks - Urs Moosmuller
April 04, 2012 -

For the past week I have been climbing in Red Rocks, Nevada enjoying the warm desert temps. The climbing here is world class and every day is a new adventure. There are so many routes here that its hard to stay focused on one route and immediately I abandoned the thought of projecting routes. Instead I focused on sending 13’s within a few tries and exploring the classic sport routes scattered around Calico Basin.

I would like to introduce the newest member of the climbing community, Brooklyn the wonder-pup! Andrew and I drove to Colorado Springs on Sunday to expand our little family. It’s only been a few days, but we are already in love with this little ball of feistiness.Today will be the first day we attempt to take out new friend climbing. I love when there are a few well-behaved dogs at the crag, but I get as annoyed as the next person when they are running on ropes, stirring up dust, and otherwise making a mess of things. Brooklyn is...

Clear Creek Canyon has a reputation for having soft short routes on ok quality rock with the exception of some hidden gems. When you first enter the canyon all you see is choss. To the left and right there is nothing but steep hills and loose rock. But as you progress forward you start seeing small cliffs with unique features and good sized walls. The day before planning our day trip to CCC we checked the weather and saw a high of 61 degrees, but didn’t check the wind forecast.

Long Weekend in Sinks Canyon, WY - Jen Vennon
March 01, 2012 -

Over President’s Day weekend I made a weekend road trip to Lander, WY. Winter has been dragging on and “life” has taken it’s toll in the last few months. Work, work, and more work . . . that’s all I feel like I do. But a three-day weekend is a rare thing and something to be taken advantage of. So we packed up the car and set out on the lonely roads that connect Colorado to Wyoming. What we found were good friends, fun times, and sunny walls to climb. Months of no climbing have left me weak and...

Decided to go out to Primo Wall a couple weeks back (Jan 21st) with some mates from the gym (DBC): Allen Cheney, David Mullins and Mark Rohr. First climb on my list to send was "Shine 14a" which I had tried a few times before in colder weather but just kept freezing off right after the crux, darn it haha. The weather was very nice that day and go figure I forgot the beta. After, I figured out the moves again, I sent next go. Since I had finished up my project, I decided to give it a go...
