I was walking to class early last week, talking online with one of my best friends, Matilda Soderlund from Sweden, on Facebook. She told me that she was going to Spain in a week and that I should come. I had a few days off school so, why not? You only live once, right? =] So, tickets booked, and my impromptu week trip to Spain was scheduled. Needless to say, I am in love with Spain, specifically the Catalonia region where I have spent the majority of my time. There is just an infinite amount...
Our first week in Spain quickly fell into a comfortable rhythm. We’d sleep in late and then spend an hour or more drinking coffee, checking the slow internet, discuss our plans for climbing and enjoying the company of Joe and Colette. We managed to climb five of our first seven days in Spain. This summer some friends and I went on a trip to Rodellar, Spain, where we spent 5 weeks climbing the incredible walls and enjoying the mega chill life style of a dirt bag climber in Europe.
After being in Kalymnos last year we were looking for a new destination for our short summer trip of 2012 and stumbled across Mallorca. From a climbers perspective, the island is mostly known for it's great Deep Water Soloing (DWS) opportunities. Not such a commonly known thing is the great amount of top sport climbing crags it has to offer. And besides all the climbing possibilities it simply is an extremely beautiful island with a wide variety of different landscapes and atmospheres, amazing beaches and mountains up to 1500 meters above the sea. So a ten day trip was...
