"Some places are nice to visit and some places just make you feel like the luckiest person in the world. This is what we felt during our trip to Rocklands. So does Rocklands live up to its hype? Yes, it does. But it's not only about the climbing. It's the whole experience (scenery, people, rock...) that makes the area what it is. We hope this video gives you a genuine image of Rocklands. This video was shot during June 2012 and it was Mélissa Le Nevé's second trip to Rocklands. Needless to say it will not be her last!"- Haroun Souirji...
There is the video about my last trip in Rocklands : Vivid Landscape ! Enoy guys and hope it will motivate you to there !!
Especially when you have the pleasure to spend the summer in South Africa! No matter how sore your muscles are, sitting at the campground in front of the best sandstone boulders ever is a real torture. So my program for the last two month was, to skip most of the rest days and climb as hard as possible. This trip was my third visit to the Rocklands and they start to feel a little bit like home to me. On one hand, nothing has changed over the last years, the place is still world class for bouldering and the...
First i had been climbing in Rocklands 3 years ago but i haven´t enjoyed it to much due to two knee injuries and really bad shape. This year i was so surprised about all the amazing classic boulders and of course of the incredible landscape! Nearly the whole time i was going from one area to the next trying to repeat all the amazing classic boulders like Shozoloza, Black Shadow and Black Velvet...... At the end of the trip i started trying some of the harder lines but then i was running out of time. The time i spend in...
My time at the Rocklands is coming to an end, and I feel sadness just from typing that sentence. Its been a crazy last few weeks; aside from the endless bouldering there's been so many new experiences as well! Braai-ing up the best ostrich and lamb meat, being welcomed into a very international community, meeting new friends, trying new foods, driving on the left side of the road, and somehow living without the internet have all been incredibly eye-opening. For my first time out of the country I've been told by many that I hit the nail on the...
South Africa; a land of established beauty and miles of untapped potential. I’ve seen pictures, I’ve watched videos, and I’ve heard first-hand accounts of the bouldering that I’ll be exploring for the whole month of July. But everything I’ve heard will be nothing compared to the experience. It’s something I can’t even imagine right now! The farthest I’ve lived from my birthplace in New England is right here in Colorado; I’ve never been outside our country’s borders. I’ve spent the past few months preparing myself physically with my trainer Kris Peters and I feel stronger than I have in...
