Rivers are full to their banks (typically), and rain boots are are out in full storm (typically)! While spring has only just sprung, this spring is different, as paddlers find themselves praying for rain, watching NOAA's radar for the slightest hint of moisture. Mid-March starts the Western Whitewater Championship Series: a series of paddling festivals throughout the spring and summer featuring various downriver races and events. The Wind River Festival is part of the Western Whitewater Championship Series, a series of 8 river festivals throughout the summer and fall. Racers accumulate points throughout the series, of which the individual with the most points per category is deemed Champion of the Western Whitewater Championship Series. The Wind River Festival featured the first of many downriver kayak races to come- a mass-start, grueling 25 minute all out paddle to the finish line!
