Early season testing started for the Santa Cruz Syndicate with mechanics, engineers and riders arriving in the town of Imperia, Italy, for three days of extensive testing aboard the latest Santa Cruz full carbon V-10’s.   The bikes were decked out with the Syndicate’s newest sponsor products from Fox and Shimano.  The Syndicate’s choice to join forces with Shimano and Fox proved to be a great decision as the test session was incredibly successful.

So throughout much discussion and searching for the last great ride of the 2011 fall season we picked out a ride that most people only dream of.

Mt.Buller, VIC, Australia, January 22, 2012 – The sun was out all weekend in the Australian alpine, to set the tone for Team Norco International’s first Downhill event of the year- Round #2 of the Gravity Cup at Mt.Buller. With a lot of big changes in regards to equipment and training, Bryn and I used this Aussie National to get a feel for the new bikes, go through the motions of racing, and build confidence- checking off another couple of podiums.

The Off-Season is here! A couple of months off after traveling around the world for 10 months is always a great thing. Catch up with friends, get back on the bikes and let your liver detox. On the North Shore it also means monsoon season arrives with daily deluges of 40-50mm of rain.  Mud spikes go one and the 5.10s are kept perpetually soaking wet and muddy. Actually to be honest, this isn't much of a change from World Cup season, come to think of it.
