The summit of Snowdon last week. While most of the country sat in drizzle including Llanberis, the tops were out for a sun tan! Worth a run – up the railway path, then along the Snowdon Ranger Path, awesome descent, bit of a slog up with about 900m height gain but worth it.

Back on the trails after the snow! Having fun drifting around on the various twisty rooty tracks again trying to keep up with Paul Bassagotia! Everyone's mind is now turned to racing again, seems that no sooner than the season ends and people are aiming, training and planning for the next one. You think you know your limits and when you chase icons, you immediately discover you can ride much harder still. It re-calibrates your very potential! Thanks Paul!

Towards the end of February a good friend of mine Brian Raphael and I decided to put together a little edit of some winter riding in my home town of Chico, CA. I feel like the video turned out great and I hope you enjoy and catch a little glimpse of the awesome weather we were able to enjoy this winter!

First descent. These words always sound a bit strange in the context of mountain biking but have become regularly used when it comes to bike alpinism, bike mountaineering or whatever you want to call it. All these terms try to describe the adventurous combination of high Alpine mountains and self supported trail riding. You can become addicted to this type of mountain biking, always in search of higher mountains, steeper and more technical trails or simply some mountain nobody has ever been to with a bike just to make the first descent.

Everyone has felt the pressure of the last minute pack job. It doesn't matter how much spare time you leave to pack, it always comes down to the wire getting spare parts organized and bikes taped up in their boxes. We are leaving tomorrow morning for the 15 hour trip from Sydney to Durban, RSA. Got all day:), so I figured, plenty of time to write a blog:)

The fourth & final round of the Australian National Downhill Series was held two hours north of Sydney at Awaba Mountain Bike Park. Both Monster Energy-Specialized riders, Troy Brosnan and Sam Hill were fresh off their 1-2 podium finish from the weekend before at the Australian National Championships, and being the last round for the season both were keen to establish dominance on what is known as Australia’s most technically challenging course on the National Circuit.

For the last month we had very cold weather and snow. That's why I was doing only indoor trainings in gym. With my team ŠD LIFE, we were training with motocross riders, to get fit for up coming season. You can see a short edit of our trainings. Weather is getting better and I can ride some xc again. I can't wait to ride downhill bike too. Besides getting fit I have been busy with school, trying to pass as many exams as I can before the racing season.

Eagle Farm, Adelaide, South AustraliaAnother 1-2 finished for Team Monster Energy-Specialized riders Troy Brosnan and Sam Hill who both attended the Australian National Championships at the Eagle Farm track in South Australia over the weekend. With both riders keen to claim the elite title, there was a healthy friendly rivalry with the pair after coming off some close results in the National series. Troy and Sam have been going 1-2 for the whole Australian season and expectations were high for the duo.

Practice and race days were an awesome mix of sunny, cloudy, windy and perfectly calm weather. I made sure I got in a sufficient amount of practice on both the DH and SD courses.
