Crashed and burned in the heat of Val di Sole. Loads to say but really: I was on a flier, had a massive moment at the top but then everything started to click it was amazing, I had a huge smile on my face as i knew the time was good and I really was just enjoying the course… next thing I could hardly breath looking up at the trees! Says it all!!
At the moment I am on a lengthy layover in Duha its a airport somewhere in the middle east. I am en route from nepal to germany to finish building the red bull berg line slopestyle competition that i designed and then compete at the event. So your wondering why I am coming from Nepal right? well let me begin to tell you why I was there. Mammoth bike park has opened earlier than anywhere else in the West this year. When I rode there Saturday (Memorial Day Weekend), about 9 trails were open; including Uptown, Downtown, Shotgun, Juniper Ridge, Lower Bullet, Lower Pipeline, Paper Route, and Timber Ridge. This is going to be a epic mountain biking season with the low snow pack already melting out FAST. At this time in Mammoth, all trails below 8500 feet are melted out...

Videos of Santa Cruz have become a bit repetitive, usually being of Post Office, step-up jumps, and the same local trails. We wanted to do something different; build unique stunts that push the local riding scene. Something that would make even our friends say "Whoa, where's that?". We spent the winter digging hard, cutting in new trails, buttering up old ones, resurrecting old hits, and...
Loved doing this one - got back a couple of weeks ago from the RedBull MTB Academy with some of the best young talent in downhill racing, came away with a great mindset! For 2012 we have put together a core group of sponsors and people dedicated to bringing the best out me as an athlete - whether it's bike maintenance, image production, athlete preparation or just a little family love! With that small army and knowing I can rely on the knowledge base of the athlete team from my recent trip away - I feel I can confidently take...
