I was pretty stoked when my friend and Five Ten rep Kevin Newell called me up to invite me down to this year's Rockfest in Mazama, Washington in late June. The festival is the annual 'kick off' to the climbing season in the Methow Valley and surrounding areas. It's just a really fun and laid-back event in a truly enchanted venue. Five Ten sponsored the evening slideshow again this year, which is why Kevin wanted me to come along. I eagerly agreed.
Winter is throwing me for a loop again this year! Usually I climb around Lander and the Flaming Gorge until the first week of Jan. I take a week long rest then began a 9 week training regimen. It usually works out great because the highway to the Flaming Gorge is closed for the most of Jan and Feb and the roads to Lander can be terrifying and should be closed more often. But, this year it has been unusually warm and we have been able to climb outside more often. So now I am climbing inside 3-4 days...
Right now, I'm enjoying the last moments for a few weeks at my apartment in Boulder, Colorado. I'm about to drive to Denver to catch a flight to California to meet up with Five Ten's own Kevin Newell and Beau Kahler. Final destination, the Getu Valley China for the annual Petzl Roctrip.
