Andrew and I drove to Colorado Springs on Sunday to expand our little family. It’s only been a few days, but we are already in love with this little ball of feistiness.Today will be the first day we attempt to take out new friend climbing. I love when there are a few well-behaved dogs at the crag, but I get as annoyed as the next person when they are running on ropes, stirring up dust, and otherwise making a mess of things. Last weekend I had the opportunity to get outside and go climbing and I didn’t take it. Dumb I know.Instead I decided to stay home and work on a nagging bathroom revamp that had been dragging on and seriously needed finishing. I hated to spend a perfect sunny day spackling, painting, and fiddling with wires but it had to get done.

Winter has been dragging on and “life” has taken it’s toll in the last few months. Work, work, and more work . . . that’s all I feel like I do. The photo issue is always my favorite and this year’s does not disappoint. To my surprise there is a full-page, black and white, photo of me towards the end of the photo section. The caption says the photo was taken on Apocalypse in Rifle, CO. This particular shot however, was actually taken on Simply Read, the route two left of Apocalypse. I know this, because it’s a route I’ll never forget, a route that challenged me for two seasons before finally, and unexpectedly, coming together...                ]]></description>

It was raining and cold as we packed the car. It dumped for the entire 1 hour drive to Rifle Mountain Park. At one point I began laughing and questioned Andrew about why we were still driving. I’d  suggested throwing in the towel before we even made it to the highway. A day at the Glenwood Hot Springs was sounding perfect to me. But we kept driving.
