I finally finished up a very busy but ultimately successful fall semester at GA Tech. I decided to kick off the winter break with one of my favorite competitions- The Dark Horse. As always it was held at my home gym, MetroRock in Boston. However, it was a much different competition than previous years- the field of girls was by far the strongest ever at the comp. There were at least 12 girls who were strong enough to climb in finals, which made the red point very crucial since there were only 8 places in finals. I got to...
Its been very spazzy weather out here, 90 degree weather last week, raining and cold this week. Not the greatest for climbing, but I have been keeping my self busy with gym sessions and doing school work (or trying to). I have been to a few places out here, the hide away, happy valley, and farley are all super cool spots. Im real excited to do Y2K9, speed of life, and Im really psyched to check out Great Barrington. Anyone know anything about the fire at farley???This past weekend was Central Rock Gyms pro comp. They did a great...
Last weekend was the final Dark Horse comp. It was amazing, as expected. It was great to be back home again and competing with so many people I haven’t seen in a while, including a bunch of people new to the Dark Horse competitions. Both the women and men categories were totally stacked- Angie Payne, Daniel Woods, Kashia Pietras, Rob D., Isabelle Faus, and Alex David Johnson just to name a few.
Two days ago in Boulder it was 75 degrees and sunny, now theres 8 inches of snow on the ground. For me that means winter has come and its time to start trying hard boulders! On November 1st I will be making my way down to the south to compete in the last leg of the Triple Crown at Horse Pens 40. After that I will be hanging out in Chattanooga for the rest of the month, working and climbing. There is plenty of climbing for me to do down there so I should be kept pretty busy!...
I have spent the last week in Chattanooga, TN staying with Jimmy, Kasia, and Rami. Being back in the south for a little while has be really refreshing and has gotten me really psyched to train hard for trips to Arkansas, Hueco, and Bishop this winter. Yesterday was the first leg of the Triple Crown Bouldering Series. Originally the comp was scheduled for Saturday, but because of heavy rain the night before the boulders were wet, and the comp was postponed to Sunday. On Sunday morning everyone woke up slow, exhausted and overall just not psyched to compete. People...
