Injuries and Comebacks - Kyle Francis

Injuries and Comebacks - Kyle Francis
September 19, 2014 -

Back in march I had a third degree ankle sprain, tearing ligaments on the front and both sides of my foot, with micro tears in my Achilles tendon which I got in a flag football tournament. When it happened, I was really excited about climbing at the time, coming off one of the best trips I have ever had. So to say the least, I was a little bummed out. I was on crutches for two weeks, then in a boot for another 6 weeks, then in a brace for another month. When I was finally ok to be...

Strong Start to the Season - Eric Sethna

Strong Start to the Season - Eric Sethna
December 02, 2013 -

Hello from Banff, Alberta! For the first time in three years I’m back living in my home town! I’m currently working remotely for a Silicon Valley start-up company, and being able to do all my work on a laptop from anywhere in the world is a pretty epic lifestyle change. I choose my own hours and that opens up plenty of opportunities to meld my work schedule with my climbing needs. I’m finishing school in April, so I have some major life decisions to make in the next 6 months. Having no ties and no preferences makes it difficult to...

Healing is a Painful Process - Nick Bradley

Healing is a Painful Process - Nick Bradley
May 19, 2013 -

In my last post I mentioned at the end that I had a minor finger injury. Well as it turns out, that "minor injury" kept me out of climbing for a full month, and for the last three weeks I have been working my way back up to where I was. It's painful because of how badly I want to be where I used to be (stronger than ever before, and sending much more than I have) and I have to climb on only jugs at a very low level, or I will re-injure my finger. So far it...

Making a Recovery - Eric Sethna

Making a Recovery - Eric Sethna
April 15, 2013 -

Tour De Bloc season 10 has come to a close with Nationals being held last weekend at Rock Jungle Fitness in Edmonton, Alberta. The sad part is that I wasn't able to go. In fact, I haven't been able to go to any competitions this season, with the exception of the season opener in November. Very unfortunately, I've been battling a serious finger injury which has kept me from competing for over 5 months. A nasty amalgamation of a pulley tear, tendon inflammation, joint discomfort, and a stubborn mentality to continually push my body’s limits has resulted in a...

A Tale of a Finger, Hueco & ABS - Mirko Caballero

A Tale of a Finger, Hueco & ABS - Mirko Caballero
April 10, 2013 -

Packing for Hueco was, to say the least, a little stressful for me. Not knowing whether or not I could climb or not… Would I be able to compete at Nationals the following week? Even if I did, would I have a chance to win? Ok, let's rewind a little...

2012 End of the World? At Least From One of My Pulley! - Téo Genecand

2012 End of the World? At Least From One of My Pulley! - Téo Genecand
June 18, 2012 -  Téo Genecand

Here is a little sum up of how things are going in this beginning of the 2012 year. First of all, I finished my master thesis the 20 of January. Nice piece of paper on something that can be traduced as “liability for debts from the member of an association”; I can assure you that the content was as sexy as the title J.
