turdsdude your first draw is backclipped.
Packing for Hueco was, to say the least, a little stressful for me. Not knowing whether or not I could climb or not… Would I be able to compete at Nationals the following week? Even if I did, would I have a chance to win? Ok, let's rewind a little...
I've been climbing in Hueco ever since I can remember. I grew up in the desert expanse of New Mexico and the soaring syenite formations of Hueco Tanks were never too far away. My coach at the time and good friend, Lance Hadfield first introduced me to the boulders. I was twelve years old and it was my first time climbing outdoors. My mind raced, and I was hooked immediately. That first trip open my eyes to what climbing is about. I subconsciously made the decision to visit these rocks as often as I could in...
Well, my bouldering season has ended (sort of) but on so many high notes and with much more potential to achieve. The last day of my Hueco vacation in January produced a flash of Rubber Chicken aka Van Dame (V10), bringing the trip damage to two V11’s and six V10’s over the course of three weeks. I took a break for another couple of weeks before returning to Texas for the Hueco Rock Rodeo, and then geared myself up for ABS Nationals the weekend after!

A week or so latter spring break started and my friend Liam and I headed out to Gilman Tunnels for the day. After an epic getting across the river we where soaked, after much procrastinating we decided to get on a 12c called Puddy Girl. However after hanging out in the shade for so long and being wet to start with we...
The last months of my life have been consumed by climbing, exploring, brushing up new climbs, making music, driving, thinking, and healing a knee injury I gave myself while drop-kneeing down in Hueco Tanks back at the end of January. The last time I chimed in here in Five Ten, I tried to play it cool, writing about how fit I had felt before the Trade Show, my syke for all the classics in Hueco, and rambling about some other nonsense I have already forgotten. In reality, I was in full desperation mode, limping around, spending way too...
This weekend I had the privilege to attend the Annual Hueco Rock Rodeo in El Paso, Texas. I flew there to teach a clinic on injury prevention for climbing but I also participated in the competition while I was there.
