I’m in Europe now.  Racking up the frequent flyer miles, probably need to buy some carbon credits to make up for all of that flying….This time I’m here for two bouldering World Cups, one in Slovenia and one in Vienna.  I am traveling with Ethan Pringle and his girlfriend, which makes the entire trip possible.  I don’t know that I would much enjoy coming to Europe on my own for these events, because coming to these events is, needless to say, just a little more difficult than traveling...                ]]></description>

This was my first time being involved in one of these events, so I was excited to see what they are all about. The 2012 Bouldering Nationals, held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, saw one of the strongest fields that North America could have provided. I was fortunate enough to score a press pass for the event, and got a pretty edifying, behind-the-scenes perspective on what is going through the minds of a number of Five Ten athletes as they line up time and effort for the annual showdown.
