The sport of mountain biking has many disciplines, but most recently, trail bike racing, aka Enduro, has become all the craze. I am in New Zealand at the moment for Crankworx racing several events, and while out training I have also been learning all about race tactics and set up tips from the world's best Enduro racers here at round 1 of the Enduro World Series.
World Cup finals saw a new venue in a small mountain town of Meribel, set high in the French Alps. Meribel is more well known for it's skiing, but the mountain biking is just as good with it's steepness, technical variety, and speeds. For the final round of the 2104 season, the racing was exciting and to the wire.
WHISTLER, BC, CAN - AUG 13-15, 2014 - Crankworx is the biggest mountain bike festival in the World, hosting a variety of events over a 10 day period to include everything related to mountain biking including downhill racing, slalom, pump track, enduro, freeride events, video and photo contests, parties, industry expo, and an open bike park for everyone to enjoy.
That's a wrap here at the EWS in Winterpark, CO. 10,000ft of altitude, 7 tough stages and dusty, hot conditions definitely tested the team this weekend. Aurelien was on a good run on the cross country like stage 6 before being stopped on course due to a crash. This meant he had to head back up the hill for a re-run on the toughest stage of the weekend placing him 46th. He redeemed himself on the 7th and final stage finishing 21st which placed him 27th at the end of the race. He is now standing in 16th overall...
