This year I have been focusing on climbing in competitions as well as climbing outside. Since I can still compete in the ABS youth series, I have been trying to stay motivated to train for gym climbing. It is hard to maintain a sense of motivation to climb inside while the temps have been so good outside. In January, I went to the ABS Youth Divisional Championship in Tucson, Arizona. During this competition, I met many awesome climbers. The excitement level was high with all my friends and competitors supporting each-other. I...
After a loooong time on the road/plane/rock, browsing some incredible place, I finally land in France and have the time to tell you a bit about the last incredible adventure rich in experience I lived in Argentinia during the Petzl Roc Trip !After a month spent in RRG, where I was really happy to rich some of my goals (50 words for pumps / Southern Smoke ) but left some others.... I took the plane direction South America : Buenos Aires. Typical city of south America, hudge, cosmopolite but at the same time poor, dangerous. I have heard some...
“So we shall let the reader answer this question for himself: who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed?” -Hunter S. Thompson And so it was. American am I. Are we (?). Dave and Daniel (they need no introduction). Reunited once more. It was interesting because I couldn't decide if time had passed or not, since I had seen them last, and there was no way of knowing. Well, there was, and there is, and my senses fought...
My mom just reminded me to think about the postive, not the negative, so I am going to begin this blog right. This weekend I flew to Italy to attend the prestigious Arco Rock Legend Award Ceremony, for which I was nominated to win alongside the incredibly talented and noteworthy Adam Ondra, Daniel Woods, Dave Graham, and Iker Pou. I am honored just to be considered on the same platform as these figures in the sport.Well, I am even more honored and so incredibly appreciative to the international jury to have elected me as the “2012 Rock Legend” for worldwide...
The first month the weather was good, not the best but enough to prove very hard boulders, which had recently been opened most by David Graham and Chad Greedy. Also to find new and open more boulders. Not to vary the days go by very fast and the weather get worm, but I could make some new boulders and other second ascent in Wail Basin, RMNP including Macho Man V10, Free bason V11, garfield v7 and others of the boulders that are in that area. After David Graham went to Australia, Chad Greedy and I still going to...
This is sort of a double take but it didn't make sense to post more than one, right!? Lung Fish is a legend route for Rifle. Its know for its intense bouldery sequences on bullet white limestone. It stood the test of time and was even upgraded since the first ascent by Utah climber Jeff Webb. In 2011 Joe Kinder bolted a climbed a direct start which tacks in a dynamic 7C boulder start into the original crux. Last weekend I took a trip out to Rifle with the Movement youth climbing team. Coaching has recently become...
