I love setting for youth competitions. All the problems fit me perfectly and the kids are amazing. I can’t believe how good the competitors are. From the youngest kids to the 18 year olds, the talent is unbelievable. The future of our sport is in capable hands. The next generation is going to do things we did not think possible. All the kids are so psyched! It is very inspiring....

This past weekend was the regional championships, which due to an excess number of Male B boys, they had to split into qualifiers and finals. There were seven kids in my category and all advanced to divisionals so it was just for funnsies. Most of us flashed the three qualifiers.

The final race of the Czech Cup of adults was quite perfect. Even though having troubles with my training and my body I pushed myself more, than I could and made a good result. A one page report from this comp appeared in Czech most prestigious newspaper, with my photo with five ten sticker as well. Isn't it a cool free ad?:)

I also had the great pleasure of giving a slide show about my most recent expedition to Kyrgyzstan where my partner and I climbed two new huge alpine faces and we were the first American expedition to visit that mountain range. Last weekend I headed down to Albuquerque for the 15th Annual Yank-N-Yard competition. I remember competing in this event in my first few years of climbing. I feel like it was this event in the past that shaped my idea of competition climbing long before USA Climbing, the pca and UBC. I guess everyone has their own first real competition experience, professional or not at the time, this was mine.

Two weeks after my first semi-final in an international competition, I was on the road to Sheffield, the next boulder world cup. The weather was fantastic: sunny and hot! Motivated by the great weather, I climbed the boulders from the qualifying. So I climbed three problems and with this result I was easily qualified for the semi-final on the next day.

In Eindhoven, I had my second boulder world cup this year. After a good competition in Vienna my in Eindhoven was the semi-final. It was an open-air competition, but the weather didn’t play a good game, so the viewers disappeared under many umbrellas. A funny picture. As I had gotten some points in the world ranking list in the competition in Vienna, I didn’t have to wait too long in the Isolation. For me, that was an important thing for being even more motivated.

On July the third German boulder competition took place in Frankfurt. Maybe it was because of the holiday period or maybe it was because of the hot temperatures, but not too many people competed.
