Out in the middle of nowhere, and yes, i mean the middle of nowhere, the closest "town" is 45 miles away on the loneliest road in America. Highway 6/50. These boulders are home to some of the best, and most unique bouldering in the US. The boulders...

At the beginning of this month I went to Red Rocks, NV. Which is one of my favorite places to climb. I love the sandstone, the amazing incut crimps, and the proximity to Las Vegas. Although the weather was much cooler than I expected, especially in the canyons. I was able to climb at the Kraft Boulders, in the sun, every day. Paul and I were shown some new development up Gateway Canyon. One of the new problems is a fun little V6 called Three Steps to the Door. I got the FFA!

I have been in Durango, Colorado bouldering and exploring new areas. Turtle lake has been my favorite place here so far. Driving up to the bouldering from the road is definitely a plus. The weather has been very hit or miss and the new snow has created lots of mud and ice. My first day up here was mostly just exploring and getting adjusted to the skin friendly rock. Durango has these huge towering boulders everywhere with some of the best quality movement I have experienced in a while.

Training for SCS season can be very crucial. Facing my fears everyday can be tough. Getting out of my comfort zone from 40 feet off of the ground is nerve-racking for me. Getting pumped half way up the route is my favorite feeling, that is when I can push myself the to the best potential. I have many goals this year for sport climbing!

On belay… Climb on! Back to the routine; slipping on my harness, tying in, and lastly hearing my heart beat like a drum when clipping. Ever since I was little I have always been scared of highest. My fear of heights also comes with pros; I will try my hardest to finish the route so then I don't hesitate when I fall. Its SCS season once again! I have not practiced in SCS season in two years. This year I have finally decided to train!

Climbing with a parachute on your back presents some unique challenges, and so does getting all the gear down with you too. But it all just adds to the fun. Combining the two sports, climbing and BASE jumping is a unique experience that I cherish greatly. It's all one big adventure and you are constantly being challenged. It's difficult but so very rewarding- and the feeling of standing on that tiny little pinnacle...
