Competitions and Rocks - Andrea Cartas
June 30, 2012 -  Andrea Cartas

Last comp was past weekend, Spain Shampionship, where finally I get 3rd. place. Spain's Cup was finished for me with a great 2nd. place after three rounds. And finally Spain Championship took place in Gijón were the bests climbers in Spain met in the most important comp in Country. I get 3rd. place after reach the top in the final route the same as Berta Martin y Helena aleman, so the qualification route was the settlement of a tie.Now I enjoy the rock climbing in Baltzola cave, in Basque Country. Where I try the best route...

Divisionals!!! - Nicholas Milburn
June 29, 2012 -  Nicholas Milburn

I recently competed in Divisionals in Grapevine, Texas. The comp was held at Summit which was a nice change. I haven't been up there since the Dallas area left my division. Summit held a good comp. It was run well and the routes were good. There were two route in qualifiers. Q1 was straight forward, but it had two cruxy sections that gave people a lot of trouble. Q2 was a big step up. It wasn't bad until the roof section. Few people made it through the roof and nobody pulled the lip (at least in my age group)....

Summertime! - Therese Johansen

Summertime! - Therese Johansen
June 28, 2012 -

The summer is on here in Norway, and it is either warm or wet usually. But climbing works well in the shadow, and i shore prefer it to be to warm than wet. this past time I have been bouldering outside, and participated in my first deep water soloing contest. And my first DWS climbing ever.A wall where put up in Bergen over the sea, and I was nervous but also excited to try this for my first time. My psyke on rope climbing is not the best, I get scared, and I would think I would get even...

Spring Part 3 - Trollkraft! - Therese Johansen
June 28, 2012 -

1. of may I did Trollkraft, 8A in Oltedal. After the last session on it, some days earlier, I would never guess I would send it already that day. Afted working with the crux-moves a couple of times, everything just felt so much better then it had done earlier. Maybe it is cause I finally figured out how to put my heel right? After doing the crux-moves 3 times in a row I decided to try from the start with no expectations (it use to work for me to don't expect a send), and after a couple of failed...

Oh how time flies when you are having fun….The past 4 months have been a whirlwind and have taken me to 5 states and 3 countries. I have been admittedly bad at blogging along the way, but here’s the quick summary:I went to Europe to compete in some World Cups. I found them to be very challenging, especially mentally. I didn’t climb as well as I would have liked, and I got frustrated, but I came back home with some more international experience under my belt and checked a few new places off the visit list....

Rock & Ice Photo Shoot in Independence Pass, CO - Sasha DiGiulian

Rock & Ice Photo Shoot in Independence Pass, CO - Sasha DiGiulian
June 27, 2012 -

Following my return from Spain I flew to Colorado for a photoshoot with Rock and Ice. The chosen location was Independence Pass, a breathtakingly beautiful location near Aspen, Colorado. Independence Pass is a high-altitude region of the Colorado rockies that boasts incredibly vast ranges of granite cliffs, rolling mountains, and scattered pools of mountain run-off water. During the week, budding photographers learned from Outdoor Photography Masters, David Clifford and Keith Ladzinski. I was one of the “model subjects” for the photographers to take photos of while climbing. The group dynamics were great and I was thoroughly impressed...
