I have never been to China before- had a tease last year when a similar event was planned and I was invited, but then was cancelled last minute. So this time, when I started getting a string of emails with official invitations from the Hunan Government I was hopeful it would actually happen this time. With things ‘like this,’ you never really know- my world is filled with lots of really great ideas, fantastical assurances about lifetime trips and reality tv series’ so you have to take everything with a grain of salt. This two week climbing trip to the Getu Valley in china was a great experience and a huge eye opener for me. The trip started with a crazy bus ride down a small windy road through a very poor but beautiful part of china. Driving in to the village i was in awe of how much rock i could see on ether side of the road, i just couldn't wait to wake up the next morning and go climbing.

Beau got some great photos, and thanks to Kevin, doing an incredible job of organizing everything for us...

I’m officially back in Boulder now, my home base in the us. Well, not officially, I’m leaving in a couple days to Wichita, Kansas to reset a climbing wall with my friend and coworker at Movement Climbing and Fitness, Ryan Sewell. I’ll be gone through the weekend setting and doing bit of coaching for the local climbers. After that, I will finally be at home for bit. The last month has been a whirlwind of traveling, climbing and work. It all started in California where I met up with Kevin Newell and Beau Khaler en route to China for...
