There was just a competition at Climbers Rock in Burlington, Ontario. We spent the first day at the Happy Boulders focusing on getting as many problems in as possible and enjoying the warm 60 degree weather. Climbing in the northeast in the winter can be a challenge...this winter has been great for climbing and challenging for snow sports. A few years back Kevin Jorgeson established one of the hardest boulder problems on the North Coast.  This boulder problem is known as Stigmata, and Kevin gave it an opinion grade on 8a.nu of (V12).  It was featured in Chuck Fryberger's film Pure, under the name The Blue Schist Project.  The crux move of Stigmata requires grabbing a right hand quarter pad crimp and a left hand side pull, getting your feet up and making a close to full extension reach to a positive edge halfway up the 15 ft. boulder....                ]]></description>

It’s a new semester here at Tech and time to get going again, but of course, not just in school. It is now officially the season for a whole lot of big bouldering comps. The small, local comps are over with, and now it’s time to kick it into high gear.

Over holiday break, I have taken two weeks off. Coming back to the gym, I have felt very strong. I climbed outside a few times before and after break. I didn't send anything too hard, but I sent a few v8's and v7's. I sent Daily Chuck Dose, v8, Doughboy, and several amazing climbs- one of which is called Kahuna Roof.

We arrived in the Red River Gorge on the 17th of December for a short 4 day trip.  This will be my second trip to the NRG this season and I have still only seen a very small part of what the New has to offer in terms of bouldering.
