Bouldering at Niagara Glen, Canada - Hans Christian Montenegro

Bouldering at Niagara Glen, Canada - Hans Christian Montenegro
November 07, 2013 -

Niagara Glen, a perfect trip for you! This amazing place is ideal for a trip. You will find different kind of rocks (volcanic, granite, etc). Also, you will find different levels s problems; from V0 to V12. If you have a V4-V7 level this is a perfect place for you because you will find many problems on this level. All the problems have something to teach to you. If you like to climb more with real holds this is the right place because the problems have real pinches, crimps and slopers (It is not only about grip but movements)....

First Comp of the Season - Midnight Burn 2013 - Zoe Steinberg

The week or so after I got back from the red was basically a no-sleep work marathon.  I missed a ton of work, and still had every-day stuff to catch up on, so saying that I was stressed would have been the understatement of the year.  I got back to a normal routine relatively quickly though, and two weekends after I got back from the red I drove down to Pennsylvania for PRG’s annual Midnight Burn comp.

Summer in Colorado is an amazing time. The alpine climbing areas are teeming with motivated people projecting old and new climbs alike. The trails are packed with outdoor enthusiasts enjoying the breathtaking vistas that are the Rocky Mountains. This summer season was cut short. There were devastating floods closing most climbing areas. This was merely an inconvenience when compared to the devastation the flood caused to homes, roads, and businesses. But for every story of destruction there was another story of the generosity, heroism, and kindness of people in the climbing community. It made me thankful to be a...

Balancing School and Climbing - Greig Seitz

Balancing School and Climbing - Greig Seitz

Finding the balance between my studies and my school life has been very challenging for me. At first, after I arrived at The Master's College, it was pretty easy to find the balance between the two. The Closer I get to the end of the semester, the harder it is for me to do both. I was still able to commit a fair amount of time to bouldering. Just recently, during a bouldering session, I got a hernia. It was very discouraging for me at first. After I got it, I knew I wasn't going to be...

Remember the Time we Almost got Struck by Lightning? - Tim Rose

Remember the Time we Almost got Struck by Lightning? - Tim Rose
October 28, 2013 -  Tim Rose

We were at the mouth of the forest. The service road that we had hiked went on but the forest came to an abrupt halt at the edge of a large reservoir. Rain fell in white sheets obscuring our vision tracing a path in our wake as we sped across the open expanse. The sky was ashen brown; lightning illuminated the darkness and a cacophony of discordant thunder rung in our ears. Visibility was going from poor to naught quickly. “We are completely exposed out here,” I said panting. The only thing that stood between us and the...
