Fall Temps in the Poudre! - Emily Dudley

Fall Temps in the Poudre! - Emily Dudley
November 04, 2011 -  Emily Dudley

It's finally fall in Colorado, and with cooler temperatures comes sendage! As a Colorado native and a resident of Fort Collins, I am lucky enough to climb year round. Now is the prime season in Poudre Canyon. On my first trip of the season I realized there is still so much I haven't even seen yet. So right now I am working on the first female ascent of Public Property V9, previously V11 until the start hold broke and became even bigger. Psyched for the send!

Northern Beats...an Arctic Boulder Adventure

Northern Beats...an Arctic Boulder Adventure
November 01, 2011 -

In May 2010 a highly motivated Boulder team met in Trondheim. My friends Justin Hawkins, Torstein Eide, Belinda Weiss and new “Newcomer” Therese Johansen and myself wanted to check the Norways best Bouldering Spots and moreover we wanted explore new areas along Norways never ending Coastlines.

The last couple of months One was for sure: After such great climbing in the Rocklands over six weeks there were two possibilities to go on. The first was to take a period of resting and just get over the really bad months in the Frankenjura while doing nothing! Especially doing nothing what has to do with rocks. Maybe you have some bbq, go a bit swimming and yes, relaxing! The alternative could have been trying to fight the bad conditions and to start a daily little war against creasy and wet rocks or boulders, tons of...

Nina Williams Sends Two V10's in a day

Nina Williams Sends Two V10's in a day
October 25, 2011 -

A couple weekends ago I traveled to Joe's Valley with intention to forget the real world for awhile in the desert. We were a little worried at first since the weather called for snow and rain, but we lucked out big time with just chilly - I mean, SENDING temps! The sandstone was at perfect grip-to-skin ratio, the sun said hello but didn't bake our motivation away, and the Food Ranch donuts were incredible as always. In fact I could probably credit the donuts for my sends of Resident Evil and Fingerhut, both in a day and my firsts...

september/ october update - Kyle Francis

september/ october update - Kyle Francis
October 16, 2011 -

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to get outside this past month, and really the only highlights have been two indoor comps. I competed in a local bouldering comp middle of September to receive credit to qualify for bouldering regionals, and it went really well. I fell off the last move of their hardest route a good four or five times, which wasn’t ideal, but I was still psyched! I then competed in an adult competition with cash prizes where I placed second to Brian Anthunuiese, despite being pretty sick. other than those two comps I’ve just been climbing...

This past weekend I traveled to another Pennsylvania grit stone area to snag the third ascent of Minotaur.  This line follows pinches, pockets, slopers and crimps to a proud mantle at roughly 18ft.  Trevor (FA'd the line) was nice enough to give me the run down on beta however; I decided to use a slightly different version of moves to send.  This line is an instant classic anywhere and is just another testament to the quality of Pennsylvania bouldering.  Its good to be home on the east coast.
