Autumns Fruits - Andrea Cartas

Autumns Fruits - Andrea Cartas
December 05, 2014 -  Andrea Cartas

Near Madrid there's a crag called Fin del Mundo (End of the world) with exigent routes, not as easy and confortable as Catalunya ones, powerfull and long moves only adapted to tall climbers and crimpy lovers. There I did an excelent 8a+, just few tries to link long reaches and dinamics moves included a crazy jump to a shoulder, could be 8b in Catalunya easily. Then i travell again to one of my favourite crags, Jaen, were tufas style prevail and were I did easily an 50m 8b. A crazy overhang with tufas and a...

Weekend at LRC - Francesca Metcalf

Weekend at LRC - Francesca Metcalf
February 14, 2014 -

Recently, I got to get outside and climb at LRC for the first time this year. I went with the climbing club and acted as a guide with two other officers for some new climbers who who had recently joined the club. For many of them it was their first time outside, so it was really exciting showing them around and seeing them experience the challenges and thrills of climbing outside for the first time.

Blackwing vs Arrowhead - Christian Muench

Blackwing vs Arrowhead - Christian Muench
September 09, 2013 -  Muench

At the moment I am climbing the Arrowhead and the Blackwing. So I thought it would be a good idea to compare the both shoe models and find out their strengths and weaknesses.Concerning the Arrowhead, this shoe is really strong if it comes to slabs and vertical climbing. It holds perfectly on slopey footholds and small crimps. In that style of climbing, the only sections I had problems with where those with tiny pockets to step in. In overhanging routes and when it comes to technical heal hooks, in my opinion the Arrowhead reaches its limits even though I...

Training for Worlds - Zoe Steinberg

Sorry this blog post is so late- for some reason, I seem to get just as busy over the summer as I do during the school year, just with different things.  This summer has been especially packed, as it is not only the summer before my senior year of high school, meaning all sorts of fun college stuff, but it is also the first time in two years that I qualified to compete at the IFSC world youth cup.

Summertime Climbing - Zoe Steinberg
July 12, 2013 -  Zoe Steinberg

This summer has gotten off to a really great start so far. The last time I posted, I had just arrived at the red river gorge for two and a half weeks of some of the best climbing training in the world. After that time went by, my team and I packed up some of our stuff and made the six-hour drive to Atlanta for the 2013 SCS Youth National Championships. Finally, once the four-day competition was over, we drove back to Kentucky for another two weeks at the red. It’s been a really good...

The Ninja Spirit - Guntram Jörg

The Ninja Spirit - Guntram Jörg
March 28, 2013 -

Tenerife being an awesome spot for rope climbing is well known. With Bouldering we are talking about a lot of uncertainty. Doing his homework of preparation and planning GU (Guntram Joerg) quickly realized that this island had already rejected the brave ascent attempts of many strong guys and girls. It was only after short scouting-session with Walter Gollner - THE austrian-stranded-in-tenerife-local that GU realized that there still was loads of potential to crush. GU got to work and it was only a fews days that the first hits on his ticklist - some of them boulder problems that had...
