I've watched all the recap videos and immediately put on my list of must do competitions. I was feeling pretty good when I bought my plane tickets. I just had a great trip out in southeast where I did some of my hardest sends and I just won youth ABS Divisionals. This Christmas holiday a good chunk of my family and I went out to Chattanooga, Tennessee. I think I go to Tennessee every holiday I possibly can which is awesome because the southeast has a lot of great quality sandstone. Most of my family that came down for the holiday also rock climb, so it's not your average family Christmas where you go do the family stuff as fast as possible then book it to the closest crag.

This is actually the same camera my step-dad has, so I'm familiar with all its buttons and knobs. Now all I need is a trip to officially christen my camera. Some more fantastic news. University of Colorado at Boulder accepted me!!! This is my number one choice of college, so I am pretty...

Halloween, candy for all, tummy aches, sugar rush and ROCK CLIMBING! My gym, Stone Moves, held its second ever Monster Mash comp. How often do you get to dress up in costume an rock climb? 24 hours of horseshoe hell is truly an amazing event and a test of mental and physical toughness, there is nothing else like it out there. A grassroots, hometown event executed flawlessly by event coordinators. This was my first trip and a quick one, but along with my partner Brent Perkins, we finished 2nd overall in the team event being taken down by tough conditions and the power team of Sonnie Trotter and Tommy Caldwell. This year over 40 competitors completed over 100 pitches during the 24 hour period.

First thing that I need to point out is how organized the UBC guys are. They emailed a packet out to the competitors that was the best comp packet I have ever seen. I didn't even know such things existed! They even gave the competitors a free Adidas jackets. Stone Gardens is a brand new gym, and its newness definitely shows. Brand new walls, brand new holds and brand new mats. The first part of the gym I saw was the isolation...
