Granby Ranch is always the first MTB resort to open in Colorado, and it did not disappoint for the 2014 opening day! Rain started coming down pretty early, and it made for some slick conditions throughout the day. It was nice to ride with all of my friends and get wild on the trails before my first race this weekend! Thanks to Granby Ranch for having an excellent opening day, and now...
SCS regionals were a few weeks ago, down in Rockville, Maryland. I drove down the day before the comp, which was also my last day of classes, to stay with my friend Kerry for the night. In the last 4 months 16 year old Swiss Giuliano Cameroni climbed 31 boulders graded 8A or harder! At the same time he also set a new record: Giuliano became the youngest climber to climb an 8C boulder. We filmed Giuliano during a sunny sunday afternoon in Chironico - one of the most beautiful and well known boulder area in Switzerland and even in the world. In just a few tries he made the ascent of “Vitruvian Man” 7C and in 1 hour he succeeded in”‘Willenberg Dach” 8A.
A few weeks ago I received a phone call from a close friend in Idaho asking if I would be willing to help out a family in need. This family had lost a great man, Vietnam Veteran, Frederick Kellerman. One of Fred’s dreams was to BASE jump off the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho. Unfortunately, that dream was never fulfilled before he passed.
