A few new bike shoes have been added to the line up for five ten: Impact VXi Clipless, Impact VXi, the Hellcat had some minor changes, and the Maltese clip shoe had a makeover as well. Material changes have combated some weight and weather issues.
This is the story of my trip in Santa Linya and my first 9a, Fabela pa la enmienda! Beside the fact it is a pretty cool number, it's an accomplishment, a consecration and something I'm proud of. Also because it's the proof, for me, that I can study at University and practice sport at high level.
Last weeks I got back in really good shape and could do maybe my best and hardest First Ascent up to date! Cosmic Chaos 8b+ in Murgtal. To create something new takes courage to trust the uncertainty. Through hard work and will every goal can be achieved, but the value of the created is impermanent. It is not the result that counts, it is the moment we live because it remains for eternity!
This boulder means a lot to me. It brought me back to the way climbing felt when I first started. Fun. Limitless. Incredibly meaningful and fulfilling. It makes you feel like your not wasting any time on Earth. Exploring and discovering new climbs is a front within climbing I have never explored. I might just do it for the rest of my life. The first time that I tried this route was in 2008, and I had worked on it for quite a while back then. But after I had finished school this year, I went to Australia for 9 months and therefore had to start from the beginning after the trip.
For CCS nationals two weeks ago, the Stanford climbing team as well as a bunch of other teams from all over the country ventured to Florida to compete. Although I didn’t do quite as well I would have liked (I just missed finals in bouldering and speed), it was a lot of fun.
