This was the my first Open Nationals, so I had zero expectations and was just treating it as a training exercise. I also was just psyched to climb and have some fun on some top notch boulders. I ended up doing quite well seeing as though it was my...

Thursday was cold, rainy and snowy. Conditions being less than ideal I didn't really expect much. I drove almost 2hrs to get to Gretna so I wasn't going to leave without trying to do the Cut Tree project. Gault and I fell off the top of this boulder a combined 300 times. Thankfully it went down.

The Wind River Festival is part of the Western Whitewater Championship Series, a series of 8 river festivals throughout the summer and fall. Racers accumulate points throughout the series, of which the individual with the most points per category is deemed Champion of the Western Whitewater Championship Series. The Wind River Festival featured the first of many downriver kayak races to come- a mass-start, grueling 25 minute all out paddle to the finish line!

It's almost end of March and we still have snow in Slovenia. In few weeks we have first downhill race. I hope that snow will go away. Almost everything is the same as last year about me and downhill racing. I have the same GT Fury downhill bike, 661 helmet and knee pads, Leatt brace, Royal gear, Quiksilver clothes, Continental tires, Under Armour base layer clothes and new Five Ten shoes. My girlfriend Mateja took some nice shots of pre-season riding.
