Good Times with the Team on the Upper NF San Joaquin, CA - David Farkas

Good Times with the Team on the Upper NF San Joaquin, CA - David Farkas
August 21, 2013 -  David Farkas

I had been working teaching kayaking and was keen to get out with the crew and get on something challenging. After staying a few extra days to work, I knew my time off was limited. The usual 7 days off between work stints had quickly turned to 4. It’s a beautiful world when you can get online, find your mates, and start planning something. A few emails later…I was quickly heading out of the California Salmon River drainage driving south 14hrs, to meet up with Josh Nielson, Tyler Fox, and Adrienne Kiernan. Along with Adrienne...

National Championships and EDC IXS Pila - Spela Horvat
August 21, 2013 -  Spela Horvat

National champs were held on my favorite track; the Maribor World cup track. The guys at the Pohorje bike park did an awesome job on the track. The track has some awesome new sections and a lot of big new jumps.Of course the rain surprised us again on Saturday and thunder stroke in to the gondola, so the training was canceled. On Sunday the track was a little slippery in the seeding run and I had a crash but for the finals there were perfect conditions. I became vice national champion! In the open race I was 3rd with two...

A lot happens within a day. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, and sometimes ugly.Where are my bags?– *WHIRRL CLICK*Was that the conveyor belt stopping? No way… this is about to happen isn’t it? I managed to make it through three different airline flights, bus and train rides to lose my bags on the last one? Oh look someone I can ask!

What to do when you're burned out on climbing? - Aicacia Young

What to do when you're burned out on climbing? - Aicacia Young
August 19, 2013 -  Aicacia Young

Summer is coming to an end, and fall is quickly approaching. I’ve been staying in the gym for most of the summer due to the crazy heat here in Austin, but it’s finally starting to cool off a little. I’m getting psyched on climbing outdoors again, and working on some fun projects. I took a month or two off from climbing at the beginning of the summer, mostly just from a lack of ambition, and I feel like it’s definitely helped. You always see articles about how to get past your plateaus and how to reignite your passion for...

Mallorca Week Three, Part Two - Andrew Baldwin

Mallorca Week Three, Part Two - Andrew Baldwin
August 18, 2013 -

Thursday July 18th - Hard work pays off We awoke to yet another gorgeous day here. The wind was blowing, the birds were chirping, and the guidebook is sitting out on the table. Time was starting to run out for our friends Alison and Felix. In less than a week they would be leaving and headed back to the states. We had to start picking wisely the places to which we would be going for these next few days. We wanted to make sure everyone got a chance to do what they had in mind for the remainder of...

The Bolting Process - Urs Moosmuller

The Bolting Process - Urs Moosmuller
August 17, 2013 -

The first step to bolting this route would be to build a trail that leads straight up to the cliff. Luckily for us there is a nice old dirt road that leads almost to the base of the cliff so we guessed roughly where the cave was and started hacking our way up the hill side to the base of the wall. After an hour an a half of bush whacking through shoulder height brush, we reached the base of the cliff just a few yards to the right of the cave. Perfect! Our trail was done. We headed back...
