Slovenian Cup Finals Maribor - Spela Horvat

Slovenian Cup Finals Maribor - Spela Horvat
October 08, 2013 -  Spela Horvat

The previous weekend, Maribor held the last race of the season. We had quite some races on the world cup track in Maribor; national champs, IXS EDC race and national cup finals. The track is surprisingly still in very good condition and it was really nice to race on it for the last time this season. It was a bit chilly outside, but it wasn't raining. You could all ready feel the winter approaching. I won in both seeding run and finals. Unofficially I also took the lead in the national overall standings in points, which still have to...

Cleat Set up Tips - Jill Kintner

I just wanted to share some info for people about how to set up a clip shoe with Crankbrother pedals for Downhill or all mountain riding. First thing is first, buying the right shoe:) The Minnaar or Hellcat work awesome for downhill, Crankbrothers Mallet pedals. (there is a dh mallet and a Mallet 3. The 3 has a narrower q factor for narrower hips or smaller feet for people such as myself, but the Dh version is better for bigger feet and hips) What you will need to install crankbrothers cleats:• 4mm Allen Key• Box Cutter• Cleats, bolts, and...

Climbing in Guadalcazar, Mexico - Urs Moosmuller

Climbing in Guadalcazar, Mexico - Urs Moosmuller
October 07, 2013 -

Guadalacazar is a small farming town located an hour north of San Louis Potosi in central Mexico. The climbing consists of perfect limestone varying from bullet hard blue vertical walls to massive stalagtite filled caves of white limestone. On first arriving into the town there is no sign of any climbing and it looks like so many small towns in central Mexico with rolling hills vacant of any rock formations. Then on further inspection you find massive caves in the center of holes in the ground. All the caves are underground with light shinning through the openings. It is...

Porcupine's Pine V7, Luskville, Quebec - Hans Christian Montenegro

Porcupine's Pine V7, Luskville, Quebec - Hans Christian Montenegro
October 07, 2013 -

This problem was the first one that I did on my trip to Gatineau (Luskville). Gatineau is a wonderful town. A town built into a park. It was marvelous to live into a park for a month. Also, I had never seen a real sportive town. Everyone practice a physical activity like Kayak, bike, jogging, trekking and climbing. Everyone is a healthy citizen. I got this place grace to Jonathan Audy. He is a climber that has been developing a lot of new boulder in different places (Gatineau and Lac-Brome). The Porcupine's Pine is a nice problem if...

Summer is Over - Martina Cufar

Summer is Over - Martina Cufar
October 07, 2013 -

The last route I did up there was Or or, 7a+,250m on Pointe Lachenal (3600m)with a Romunian friend Irina. We had perfect, almost “t-shirt” conditions and I found a key pitch hard and long (I might not have seen one anchor, everything is possible), I put in all the gear and quickdraws I had! Two days later I took my sister Irena to the Arete de Cosmiques (200m max IV). This was my first guiding experience and Irena’s first climbing on the altitude. Challenges for both of us. We did it well, and were quite fast, nobody overtook us:-)...
