One of the great debates in the sporting world is whether genetics or hard work and dedication dictates an athlete's success. The obvious answer is a healthy dose of both, but for me personally it is genetics that clearly gave me the upper hand in the climbing world.

Bishop is a very unique place providing every thing from easy climbs with casual top outs, to sick hard with a no fall zone. I have Been in Bishop for about 2 weeks now and am loving every minute of it.

For me Bishop is one of the best places to climb, ever since I can remember I have always wanted to climb big free standing boulders with pure lines. Bishop has every aspect of bouldering that I love, pure lines, beautiful colors, and amazing features.

With the Earth Treks Roc Comp only a few weeks away, Matt and I are excited to share our amazing home gym, Earth Treks with everyone. Training in a gym for any event can get tiring, thank goodness spring has arrived and Matt and I have been able to get out and about on the East Coast. Last week we headed north to central Mass, where we checked out the millennium boulder and Farley. Both areas had some fun and unique climbing.

Rain, rain go AWAY.

The spring storms are in full effect at the moment in Yosemite, so I will take the time to share some pictures from the wall. I have been using my Anasazi Lace Up Blanco's exclusively this season and they are doing great.

I competed in the 2010 Dusi canoe marathon 3 weeks ago, The Dusi is a 124km, 3 day stage race from Pietermaritzburg to Durban. I was fortunate to partner up with experienced paddler Sven Bruss, he had taken some time away from the sport after being Runner Up in the 2008 Dusi canoe marathon.
