Yesterday, (May, 27) I went on a solo mission to Chaos Canyon in RMNP. After 2 hours of hiking in snow, I managed to send Jade V15 for it's 6th Ascent. I logged it as a V14 on 8a.nu for a variety of reasons, but more importantly I believe the ascent to be one of my greatest accomplishments as a boulderer. I can't tell you guys how important the "TEAM 5.10®" shoe was for my ascent.

It is one of just two or three legal cliffs that I know of suitable for wingsuit base jumping in the USA. It was a special trip. With a snow storm up high on the mountain when we launched from winter and flew into summer 3000 plus feet below. Notch is a cool place and its large NW limestone wall is in powerful canyon. Last weekend was the annual Adult Canadian Bouldering Championships, hosting Canada’s best adult boulderer’s. This was the finale to an incredible 8th Tour De Bloc season. Joe Rockhead in Toronto was the host gym. I thought they did a fantastic job hosting the event, it was well run, organized and the routes were incredible, although it was extremely hot in the gym, with no air conditioning, which may have resulted in the men’s final routes being a little too difficult.

Bouldering in Pemberton and preparing for the Vail World Cup.

Spring has finally come here, bringing a few more sunny days and opportunities to get outside. At the end of April, I finished up my second year of University and jumped right into a full time job at a software company. Despite being pretty busy with work, I've been trying to climb a lot and keep in shape.

Last weekend, in my home city Tarnow, we had Polish Championships in speed climbing. Event was held on twelve meter artificial wall, with one meter overhanging. Easy and very quick routes ensure the large audience quite a spectacle. Best man reached them in 5 seconds, woman in 8 seconds. Even light rain which interrupt several times a struggle of runners were not able to deter fans of the competition, who warmly cheered their favorites.

John Sherman, master of footwork, sent in this picture of the Pursuit. It's the first protection bolt on a fairly steep route with some grippy granite (and grippy Stealth® rubber!)

This Spring we've been cleaning and putting up new climbs in Yosemite Valley. There is so much rock that the possibilities are almost endless. We've been lucky to find some good blocs to climb.

Jordan Romero, 13 year old California native, has reached the summit of Mt. Everest. In his attempts to climb the World's 7 Summits, Jordan has become the youngest person ever to reach the top of Mt. Everest, beating the previous record by 3 years. Great job Jordan! And best of luck on your descent. Can't wait to hear from you when you return home.

Reading the slew of impressive post on the FiveTen blog can leave a first time poster feeling rather sheepish. So many rad road trips and solid sends make my quaint life here in Hurricane, Utah seem, well simple. Mind you this isn’t the first time I’ve felt humbled. In fact most days I’m awed by my local climbing crew I go out with nearly every day. Joe Kinder, Lauren Lee and Isaac Caldiero are just a few of the impressive climbers I’m blessed to try and keep up with.

The course in Maribor is usually fast and rough, but after two days of solid rain it was slippery, filled with massive ruts and roots that were catching riders and throwing them all over the track. More than one rider got thrown over the bars due to the conditions, where even tire mud spikes were packed solid by the time they reached...
