Just joined the Five Ten Community and I wanted to make make a suggestion and see what everyone thought and maybe something may come of it. I would like to see Five Ten come out with some MTB and other sport gloves, maybe using the Stealth rubber tech. I think they would be so awesome!
The International Mountain Summit event is a big celebration of mountaineering and climbing held every year in Brixen, Italy. For the boulder festival, eight men and eight women are invited to compete in an elimination-type format. This year I had the privilege of being invited. It was a really fun and relaxed competition with super boulder problems, a good crew, and an energetic crowd. It was my first time competing in the new Quantums, they rocked, and I ended up placing fourth. The top three places went to fellow American and Five Ten athlete Alex Puccio, Austrian Anna Stohr,...
A lap up the gorgeous Southern Belle with Alex Honnold. On Nov 1, Alex Honnold and I repeated the Southern Belle on the South Face of Half Dome. It was first climbed in 1987 by Walt Shipley and Dave Schultz and freed the next year by Schultz and Scott Cosgrove. In 2006, Leo Houlding and Dean Potter made the second free ascent.
Today, Jon and I headed out for our last climbing day in Brione. I was interested in trying to finish up both Vecchio Leone 8B and General Disarray 8B. They are hands down, two of the best boulder problems I have had the pleasure to climb on. Brione has been seeing some recent snowfall, and the amount of snow on the drive up today foreshadowed potentially unclimbable conditions. We ventured on anyways. Sure enough all of the boulders were in fact covered with snow.
This November, the FIVE TEN van, piloted by the great Ivo Ninov has been doing a route across Spain.
