Competition season started for Edyta Ropek

Competition season started for Edyta Ropek
February 23, 2011 -  Edyta

Five Ten Team athlete Edyta Ropek, known for her successes in speed climbing world cups, unusually started this competition season. This year she tried her hand in Ice Climbing and Dry Tooling comps. Those were first steps for her, after one month of adventure with tools in the gym and in rock, she decided to learn more about that discipline, only way was to learn from the best. That is why she went to the Ice World Cup in Saas Fee (Swiss), to see what it looks like up close.

Andreas Mölk Hates Training

Andreas Mölk Hates Training
February 23, 2011 -  Andreas Mölk

A few things I've learned on my travels through this crazy little thing called 'winter-training': One, a morning of pain is better than a night of resting. Two, I probably won't go down in climbing-history, but I will go down on your campus-board. And three, while I am down there it might be nice to see a hint of progress. I am not talking about Wolfgang Güllich's one-finger-1-4-7 moves or anything. Just something that reminds me that I am performing like a climber. but I guess the larger question is why is this board of crimps so hell bent...

Fabian Christof's First Days in Tecino

Fabian Christof's First Days in Tecino
February 23, 2011 -  Fabian Christof

We´re in Tecino now for five days and have to battle with Frankenjura like fast changing conditions. The first two days were rainy and humid so Cresciano was a proper beginning. After a few hours of sun, the most boulders were in a reasonable condition. Some easy and nice warm-ups brought the feeling back for the Granite and I went straight to The Dagger. After the sun was gone down behind the mountains, the friction was quite good. The hardest thing with that boulder is to figure out one´s own beta, especially for the second part. For any reason...

Slacklining - Introducing Freaks: Part 1

Slacklining - Introducing Freaks: Part 1
February 23, 2011 -  Bernd Hassmann

During a few sunny winter days in January we managed to get some great slackline-shots from the ‘English Garden’ in Munich which is my favorite location. Due to bad weather we decided to train some new stuff in a local gym, which turned out to be awesome. Enjoy amazing tricks like buttbounce 540 buttbounce or other really great combos and and brand new flips.

2011 ABS 12 Open National Finals Report from Alex D. Johnson
February 22, 2011 -  Alex David Johnson

I was pretty bummed because without that third bonus hold I knew I probably wasn’t going to make finals. I then get a text from my buddy and fellow 5.10 athlete Josh Levin who crushed in the comp by the way, that I had made it!?! At first I thought he was just messing with me, so I text him back, “Are you serious??”. He then calls me and confirms that I did indeed make into Finals!!!!!!!! I just went crazy, running all around Spicy Pickle, the restaurant that I was eating at, not being able...
