The last day of 2012, we went to seaside to take some photos with my friend and photographer Jan Pirnat. We found some great spots and photos are going to be sick. I really liked to ride today, it was sunny and warm.  2012 season was great and I am really excited about 2013. I would like to wish Happy New Year and all the best in 2013.

This is my first post since joining the Five Ten Team, so here's a run down of what I've been up to this fall and winter. September I headed back up to Squamish for the start of the school year. September and October continued a stretch of amazing weather in the Pacific Northwest, which allowed for a ton of climbing in Squamish. I got on the amazing Eurasian Eyes, a 5.13 knife edge arete climb about a third of the way up the face of the 2000 foot tall chief.

The last two weeks have been pretty insane. I've always thought that I do more schoolwork in the last two weeks of the semester than I do all year, and this year it felt no different. Studying for finals, writing papers, starting (and finishing) projects the night before they're due, it all gets pretty exhausting. Somehow though I've made it through, but not before coming down with an evil little cold. Luckily I've got a couple weeks to kick back, relax, and recover through Mom's delicious Christmas cookies.

I like camping but only for about two days. Any longer and I feel achy, tired, dirty, and just plain gross. Thus I was relieved when we pulled into the Hueco Hacienda. It was an incredible event with tons of people. I got to teach a clinic on how to climb steep ice. We all had a great time swinging and kicking. I was the little baby with the tie-dye beanie sitting in the sand at the base of The Galley, popping little red stones into my mouth 3 at a time. I loved the way the tasted. They way the rubbed against my gums. My parents never intervened when i was "tasting" nature. They always told me it would "strengthen" my immune system. Like most 1 year olds I didn't know what an Immune System was, I just liked the rocks.
