This Spring Break I decided to mix it up a bit, trade in my kayak for a canoe, and do some exploring and hiking in Canyonlands National Park.
It seems like just yesterday we were in Boulder for bouldering nationals and already we're a month and a half away from the SCS Regional Championships! Time flies when you're training hard I guess. The Bend Climbing Team had four climbers leave the sun and warmth of Bend and head to Beaverton for a comp at Stoneworks. Stoneworks can feel crowed and small when you cram tons of climbers inside they always seem to manage it well and pull off a good comp.

The last few months have been full of motivation to work and to purchase a new set of wheels, I'm talking a home on wheels. From remodeling cabins, being a motor home mechanic, and working on a guidebook for Joe's Valley, to teaching climbing clinics and presentations. I've had my hands full of tasks away from climbing. Although carpentry is a good steady form of income, the intensive labor on my back slowly takes its toll on my climbing, fortunately I've had other opportunities like teaching and lecturing about climbing.
