Starting in Seattle, fellow BASE jumper and badass Braden Dean and I moved into our temporary home (a sick Mercedes Sprinter vans all FiveTen'ed up) and started driving down the coast. First stop, Lodi California for some skydiving. Skydiving is a crucial part of BASE jumping and is a really great opportunity to get current and practice wingsuit flying. To top it all off, the competitors will be jumping from a heli over the Goldern Horn- whether with a wingsuit or a swim suit, it is sure to be entertaining!!!

This past weekend the USA Climbing Regional Championships took place around the nation at a host of different climbing gyms. This year Earth Treks (Rockville) hosted the Capital Region championships with over 100 athletes vying for invitations to the Division 5 championships in Watertown, MA this June. A number of people had expressed interest in what it took to put together and pull off this competition, I’d like to take the opportunity to recap the preparation and route setting that lead up to and through the event.

After some unseasonably snowy weather, Spring has finally come to Colorado!  I have been trying to take advantage of the mostly gorgeous weather to get outside and climb.  I have been working at a new job recently, and I am finding that when I do have time to climb, I am much more motivated to do so.  As a result, I have actually managed to get some great climbing done over the past few months.
