My first 9a - Loic Timmermans

My first 9a - Loic Timmermans
May 12, 2014 -  Loic Timmermans

This is the story of my trip in Santa Linya and my first 9a, Fabela pa la enmienda! Beside the fact it is a pretty cool number, it's an accomplishment, a consecration and something I'm proud of. Also because it's the proof, for me, that I can study at University and practice sport at high level.

My Best First Ascent !! Cosmic Chaos 8b+ - Guntram Jorg

My Best First Ascent !! Cosmic Chaos 8b+ - Guntram Jorg

Last weeks I got back in really good shape and could do maybe my best and hardest First Ascent up to date! Cosmic Chaos 8b+ in Murgtal. To create something new takes courage to trust the uncertainty. Through hard work and will every goal can be achieved, but the value of the created is impermanent. It is not the result that counts, it is the moment we live because it remains for eternity!

This boulder means a lot to me. It brought me back to the way climbing felt when I first started. Fun. Limitless. Incredibly meaningful and fulfilling. It makes you feel like your not wasting any time on Earth. Exploring and discovering new climbs is a front within climbing I have never explored. I might just do it for the rest of my life. The video is a snapshot of those feelings and the climb. Enjoy.

The first time that I tried this route was in 2008, and I had worked on it for quite a while back then. But after I had finished school this year, I went to Australia for 9 months and therefore had to start from the beginning after the trip.

April 2014: CCS Nationals - Will Roderick

April 2014: CCS Nationals - Will Roderick
May 02, 2014 -  Will Roderick

For CCS nationals two weeks ago, the Stanford climbing team as well as a bunch of other teams from all over the country ventured to Florida to compete. Although I didn’t do quite as well I would have liked (I just missed finals in bouldering and speed), it was a lot of fun. It was really cool to see quite a few new faces along with the familiar faces of the climbers I had competed with in the youth series. It was also great to spend more time with the other team members, from hanging out in...

Spring Season - Zoe Steinberg
April 30, 2014 -  Zoe Steinberg

Over the last month, there has been a lot going on for me, relating to both climbing and other things, like school and college. Even though it’s been a bit busy, things have been going pretty well lately, so I really can’t complain any of it. It is pretty crazy to think that I only have eight more days of classes and a three-week internship before I am completely done with high school, but I’m excited to start college in the fall. Things have been going well from a climbing standpoint as well, so I’ll talk...
