Hola de Espana! - Sasha DiGiulian

Hola de Espana! - Sasha DiGiulian
March 11, 2012 -

Time is flying by quicker than I’d like it to be here in Spain. I am now at the mid-mark of my trip to the Cataluna region and I have not even scraped the exterior layer of the abundance of climbs to do here. There are thousands of beautiful lines to still climb and a generous handful of areas around where I am that I’ve still not been to. That said, so far this trip I have climbed a lot and I have already experienced two new areas. To start the trip I climbed in Siurana, Spain. Siurana has...

2012 ABS 13 Youth Boudering Nationals - Mirko Caballero
March 11, 2012 -

This past weekend I participated in the 2012 USAC ABS 13 Youth Bouldering National Championships. My Dad had to work in Colorado all week, so my Mom and I traveled with him. On Tuesday I went to train at the Movement gym in Boulder, and we met Lynn Hill. We talked for a while, and then she bouldered with me. It was just awesome meeting her, and Lynn was really nice! I also met Matty Hong and Jamie Emerson. Wednesday I trained for a couple of hours with Justen Sjong, who gave me lots of good advice, and Thursday...

March 10, 2012 -

This morning after the private screening of the video Aleix The Pedruscall decided to head for the La ComarcaKeep going back to the La Comarca, although a little quieter today, the heat is beginning tomake an appearance and this leads us to regulate our attempts and climbing at a time when we were in the open block Galapag OScar and Leti past few years and wherewe draw some lines more like Venezuelan Invasion (sit) or Le Ro-cher-che, which wasour goal since the one hand Aleix finally remove the thorn of Venezuelan invasion (sit)and I leave the nuanced 90% of...

ABS 13 Nationals - Jon Cardwell

ABS 13 Nationals - Jon Cardwell
March 09, 2012 -

After a six-year hiatus from competing in the ABS National I decided in January that I would set aside some time to prepare for the event. I took time off competing in the event for a number of reasons, the main being that I simply don’t take training in the gym serious enough. To be honest, I’ve tried to regain focus in the past but I’m easily distracted and like many in my position I bailed. For example, bouldering outside even if it’s snowing or climbing in Spain since I’m in Spain, etc. were always more...

Hueco Rock Rodeo - Angela Payne

Hueco Rock Rodeo - Angela Payne
March 09, 2012 -

The Hueco Rock Rodeo was last weekend and I had decided to go on a last-minute whim (well, last-minute in my world).  When the time came to head down to El Paso just 5 days after returning from Nationals, I still felt tired and beat up and I wasn’t quite ready to try hard again.  I’m glad I mustered enough motivation to get on the plane, because the Rodeo was a blast.
