Nangijala (8c+) in Kochel – A Long Desired Route! - Muench

Nangijala (8c+) in Kochel – A Long Desired Route! - Muench
May 03, 2014 -  Muench

The first time that I tried this route was in 2008, and I had worked on it for quite a while back then. But after I had finished school this year, I went to Australia for 9 months and therefore had to start from the beginning after the trip.

April 2014: CCS Nationals - Will Roderick
May 02, 2014 -  Will Roderick

For CCS nationals two weeks ago, the Stanford climbing team as well as a bunch of other teams from all over the country ventured to Florida to compete. Although I didn’t do quite as well I would have liked (I just missed finals in bouldering and speed), it was a lot of fun. It was really cool to see quite a few new faces along with the familiar faces of the climbers I had competed with in the youth series. It was also great to spend more time with the other team members, from hanging out in...

Spring Season - Zoe Steinberg
April 30, 2014 -  Zoe Steinberg

Over the last month, there has been a lot going on for me, relating to both climbing and other things, like school and college. Even though it’s been a bit busy, things have been going pretty well lately, so I really can’t complain any of it. It is pretty crazy to think that I only have eight more days of classes and a three-week internship before I am completely done with high school, but I’m excited to start college in the fall. Things have been going well from a climbing standpoint as well, so I’ll talk...

What a whirlwind the past couple months have been!  I competed at my first ABS Nationals, managed to do a route at the top of my lifetime list, and competed at my second SCS Nationals.

The Dark Horse Competition, Boston, USA. February 1, 2014
April 22, 2014 -

This was my first USA competition. I could not choose a better one. The Dark Horse Series is a wonderful circuit. Many good climbers go there to participate. It was very motivating to climb with many sponsored and professional climbers. It was the perfect place to push hard and to improve your level. Dark horse was a good place to see anther rout setting style. And, I love it. I really like big movement with big holds. You can jump all time. I met Alex Puccio, Meagan Nicole Martin and Ashima. Also, Dark horse series...

Prinzip Hoffnung 8b/+ (E9/10) - Barbara Zangerl

Prinzip Hoffnung 8b/+ (E9/10) - Barbara Zangerl
April 20, 2014 -

Prinzip Hoffnung was always a perfect line in my mind. It’s really close to the place where I live and I drove by a lot of times in the past. It’s a fantastic place, the slab is located in the town, right next to the houses. And the line is really beautiful. Truly unique! But I’ve never found the courage to try it before. It looked so scary for me and my experience with trad gear was a little bit limited. Of course at that point I’ve never had a fall into a nut and the route is mostly...
