For 2012 the team will racing the downhill race scene aboard the newly designed AURUM downhill bike. The Off-Season is here! A couple of months off after traveling around the world for 10 months is always a great thing. Catch up with friends, get back on the bikes and let your liver detox. On the North Shore it also means monsoon season arrives with daily deluges of 40-50mm of rain. Mud spikes go one and the 5.10s are kept perpetually soaking wet and muddy. Actually to be honest, this isn't much of a change from World Cup season, come to think of it.
People in Tahoe will be talking about last winter for the next decade, maybe longer. 2010-2011 will be remembered as that year with 60 feet of snow, when it snowed before Thanksgiving and we skied and biked on the 4th of July. The 2010-2011 season saw more snow than any season in the last 20 years. Snow overload also affected mountain biking conditions during summer. There was deep powder in the Sierra for months; Northstar and Mammoth opened behind schedule for summer mountain biking. A good 'ol sesh with the homies at Post Office! With school and the holidays coming to a close, there's a ton more time to ride! As per usual, Post Office is the place to be around here during this time of year, and it becomes an oddity to see a vacant roll-in during sunset.
For ending of 2011 we made some good shots. I was riding a very nice trail here in Slovenia. There were two photographers Jan Pirnat and Urban Urbanc with me. They made some good shots.
