The Bouldering World Cup in Vail is always one of my favorite events of the year.  The competition is part of a larger event, formerly known as the Teva Mountain Games, now known as the GoPro Mountain Games.  I remember the days when the competition at the Teva Games was held on a small mushroom-shaped boulder in a parking lot, so it is pretty neat to see how much the event has grown over the years.  Now, the World Cup attracts an incredibly strong field of competitors from various countries.  

The Little White holds some of the most pristine class V whitewater in the Northwest, possibly the entire West Coast, its rapids known worldwide: Gettin' Busy, Boulder Sluice, Island, Sacriledge, Double Drop, Enchanted Forest, S-Turn, Backender, Bowies, Wishbone, Horseshoe, Stovepipe, Spirit.

Sport climbing and projecting hard routes is my passion. Yet after 2 and a bit months on the road, I was feeling a little burnt out. So just before the US team trials demshitz where given 2 of the best freestyle kayaks ever made. Light weight, stiff, just all around amazing!
