As the venue of both World cup races and the Out of Bounds festival, Leogang (Austria) may well have been the centre of gravity sports during the last two weeks. As a conclusion, the second race of the iXS European Downhill Cup was held on Sunday. A total of 403 participants from 25 countries competed on what had been a World cup course one week earlier. 2.300 meters long and with a vertical drop of 480 meters, the course was largely the same as as at the Worldcup, but this time the weather was dry and thus the conditions were completely different.
Not so the list of starters, as half of the World’s elite showed up to race again. The Barracuda-Kona Kristof Lenssens ended 22nd in a race won by kiwi Justin Leov. Seen the strong competition that result is really valuable. Next race for the Barracuda-Kona team will be the 3rd venue of the Nissan DH Cup in Huy (Belgian) on July, 11th.
